Hey y'all --
As I write this, I'm still smiling after a great night at one of my favorite venues, Union Hall in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Just a really nice room to play, with great people, and we had a nice crowd as part of a triple bill with Girls on Grass and Karen & The Sorrows. Both bands really killed and if I'm being honest I don't think we were half-bad either.
And I'm still trying to wrap my head around tomorrow, when I've got to pick up the entire band in my dee-luxe van and drive us all up the the Adirondacks to play the afterparty for the Adirondack Whitewater Guide Olympics tomorrow night.
I've got to say that I really love it when cool gigs like this one fall into place because someone saw us and liked what we did, which is exactly what happened here. And it will definitely be the first time I've ever had part of my compensation be a whitewater trip! (The day after the show -- Tuesday morning, that is -- we're all going on a 17-mile trip through the Hudson River Gorge with our hosts, which I expect will be a blast.)
See you down the road, I hope...
